Back to the rain

I love being a Seattle Wedding Photographer!

There are amazing venues here, The San Juan Islands are just a hop, skip and a jump. There are beautiful Hotels, parks, and virtually an unlimited number of venues for beautiful weddings, receptions, engagement sessions, portraits and more.

That being said, I just got back from one of the most beautiful weddings I have had the privilege to document. It wasn't in Seattle. Kali and Dan flew me down to sunny Carmel, CA where I spent all day Friday and Saturday with them and their super friendly, welcoming and often hilarious family and friends.

They reserved a place called the Holly Farm about 5 miles away from the main beach in Carmel. There were so many neat things to photograph there I was like a kid in an eye candy store. I shot over 6,000 photo's between Friday and Saturday. The only other time I did that was almost exactly one year ago also in California near a small town called Quincy where not-so-coincidentally one of Kali's bridesmaids was married. There was clearly a tremendous amount of planning that went into this weekend event with too many details to list right now. I spent all night uploading the images to my computer yesterday. Today I have begun to make my initial edit and with so many images I have barely made it through viewing half. This is a fun photo that jumped out at me in the midst of the edit. There were several kids on site throughout the weekend and they were loaded with personality and charm.

I will be sure to post more photos and more details as I continue to go through them.

Have a good one!

Mat - what a great picture! My son looks like a crazy turtle! Never mind the fact that he was dressed in his Sunday best - he still manages to look nuts. Thank you for everything, you were the perfect combination of fun, well organized and you two were everywhere!! I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures!
