Brian and Korie are one of those couples you meet that you instantly see they are meant for each other. On Saturday August 9, 2008 they began their marriage with a spectacular Wedding Day. They have some big shoes to fill too let me tell you. Brian's Cousin flew out from the East Coast to perform the Catholic Ceremony. He said in jest during the ceremony that he had high hopes for Brian to become a Catholic Priest like him some day. He went on further to mention the length of time that Brian's Parents and Grandparents had been married, Korie's Parents and Grandparents and later they mentioned their Great-Grandparents long, fulfilling lives together. I'm not going to write years here for fear of getting it wrong, but trust me when I say that long lasting Marriages run in the family and that is as good a legacy I can think of to inherit.
Brian and Korie have one of those connections where they don't even need to speak to each other to know what the other is thinking. The day was filled with a wide range of emotions. While Korie was getting her hair done her Mom arrived at the Salon and the tears began flowing. Her Bridesmaids had the laughter going during this time and throughout the day, tears and laughter were common sites. It was great fun. The ceremony took place in the same church Korie's Parents and Grandparents were married. It was a beautiful Catholic ceremony and because of the setup of the church I was able to walk (hopefully) unobtrusively around behind the Priest to get photo's of Korie and Brian's happy faces during the ceremony with my assistant James stashed high up in the balcony as well.
After the ceremony it was off to the beautiful Sahalee Country Club in Sammammish where no expense was spared. Beautiful flowers, unbelievably good food, a great DJ and an incredible cake painted the scene for a reception filled with great friends and fun. I enjoyed being there to photograph the day and would like to offer Brian and Korie my warmest congratulations on the beginning of their long lives together!
Getting Ready
Korie and her Mom clearly have a close bond and shared great excitement while getting ready.
Brian and Korie seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.
A Proud Mother if I have ever seen one.
A Prayer to start things off.
Laughter during the ceremony.
Sneaking a peak at each other during the ceremony.
It's official at this point.
Brian noticed Korie shedding a few tears during the ceremony.
A beautiful bridal bouquet.
After the ceremony we drove up the street a few blocks to a view I had never seen before. This was just a couple of blocks away from Korie's Grandfather's home.
I loved Korie's response to all of the applause.
I love it when the kids ham it up for the camera.
What a cake!
One of the funniest best man speeches of all time.."Brian and he had a good relationship growing up together" he said.."I would mow the lawn...Brian would shave my back." :)
The response to his confession :)
I raced over to grab this photo before this guy noticed me. I can just hear the voice in his mind.."Man, that's a lot of cake!"
I had a lot of competition at the reception!
First Dance
I always get choked up during the Father/Daughter dance.
Very cool champagne glasses for the Bride and Groom.
Fun at the reception
Dancing the night away...
